Killer Hair Serum-Garner fructis Sleek & Shine Anti frizz Serum

INSIDE THE BOTTLE

The side of the bottle lists the ingredients - water, a bunch of oils, chemicals, alcohol, and fragrance. It also says something a little frightening... "Flammable until dry". It further says to avoid fire, flame, smoking, and heat - except for styling products - until hair is completely dry. I have to admit, I don't like the thought of using a flammable product on my head .

The product, itself, is a clear liquid. With a consistency like syrup, and an oily feel. When a little bit is pumped into my hand, the smell is strong, but pleasant. It's hard to describe the scent - it's not fruity as the package would have you believe. It smells a bit like some body lotions I have. But if you untwist the cap from the bottle and take a real big sniff, the smell is very strong, with a definite tinge of alcohol.

The Fatal Story......

Popular hair product under fire for causing fire
By Anna Marie Hartman

(WMC-TV) - A Mid-South teenager says she was engulfed in flames after applying
heat to a well-known hair product.

Now, one the biggest names in hair care is under fire for using flammable
ingredients without providing a warning.

Human hair over an open flame can be disastrous. But add certain hair products
to the equation and the risks are even greater.

Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Anti Frizz Serum is the target of two lawsuits
alleging the parent company, L'Oreal, failed to adequately warn customers that
the two main ingredients are flammable.

"There's no flammability warning, no adequate flammability warning on this
product," said Grace Parasmo, Kamber Law, LLC.

Attorneys with the class action lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles, say the
product can ignite at temperatures above 171 degrees and cause a substantial
risk of burns to the face, head, and neck.

That is exactly what Jasmine Davis of West Helena, Arkansas says happened to
her.

In a separate lawsuit, Davis claims she was permanently disfigured at just 13
years old when she suffered third degree burns on her head, neck, and arms after
applying the serum to her hair and then using a straightening comb she heated
over a gas stove.

The lawsuit alleges that when heat hit the serum, Davis went up in flames.

"It really shocks me that any product would not be able to withstand 171
degrees," said hair stylist Cyndi Jo Hartley.

Hartley says most of her styling tools start at around 200 degrees and heat up
to 450 degrees.

After seeing human hair burn with a flat iron, Action News 5's Anna Marie
Hartman went outside with Hartley to perform an open flame test.

In the open flame test, 100 percent human hair was used with no product in it to
demonstrate how quickly hair can go up in flames, without even using any hair
products.

Once the hair was coated in Garnier's shine serum and exposed to the flame, the
fire was raging in just seconds.

"Yea it's really scary that something that you're selling that's not even a
professional product, you're just selling it on grocery store shelves could
burn," said Hartley.

When Action News 5 asked a L'Oreal spokesperson about the product, we were told,
"Regarding both cases, it is L'Oréal's policy not to comment on ongoing
litigation."

But in a statement to the Huffington Post the company said, "L'Oreal denies the
allegations and will continue to vigorously defend Garnier Fructis Sleek and
Shine Anti Frizz Serum as safe for consumers."

Attorneys for Jasmine Davis disagree and the people behind the class action suit
say consumers should be warned of the risks.

Jasmine Davis' family is suing for medical expenses and punitive damages.

She has undergone multiple surgeries and still has more to go?
So please kindly stay off this product to avoid Fatal injuries?

Smokey eyes 123

D.I.Y simply Smokey eyes .......

Smokey eye look has been a big style for quite awhile and there's no sign this particular trend is dying. Here we show you step-by-step instructions on how to get the perfect smokey eye.

The key to the perfect smokey eye is proper blending. You want to make sure colors are blended together flawlessly. Also, it's important to pair light base colors with rich dark colors. Nice mixes include: Soft gold base with deep purple on top, champagne base with bright blue and peach base with green hue.

Difficulty: Average
Time Required: 10 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Prep the lid. The key to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free. To do this start with an eyeshadow base (also called "primer"). Simply swipe the primer across the eye and let it dry before you continue to the next step. Some great primers for a smokey eye include MAC's 'paint' ,Lise Eye fix , Zaron eye primer ,lise or NYX eye base OR Urban Decay's 'Primer Potion'.
  2. Apply eyeliner. If you're going for a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If you're opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a gorgeous smokey eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.

For more intricate directions on lining for a smoky eye see How to apply eyeliner. Also see my list of the best eyeliners. I include several that work great for the smokey eye.

  1. Blend in color on bottom lashes For color on the bottom (a key smokey eye look) you'll want to use a eyeliner pencil because they're easiest to smudge. Once the line is drawn, run your finger over it to smudge the line. You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.
  2. Apply light base color Again, the key to a smokey eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. I prefer a nice cream shade for my base. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your browbone. I love Stila's whipped eye shadows. The moist "mousse" consistency seems to stay on forever. My favorite colors are taupe and pearl.
  3. Blend in darker color, but keep dark color below the crease. Now that you have the base and eyeliner on, it's time to get the smokey effect. You need a darker eyeshadow shade. Using an eyeshadow brush blend in color starting at your lash line, blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Stop deep color at crease. The key here is to blend, blend, blend.
  4. Doublecheck your work Make sure eyes match and blend color with a Q-tip if need be.
  5. Finish with several coats of mascara. You'll want to apply a few coats of mascara so lashes are thick and dark. If you don't have naturally long, curled lashes, curl them with a lash curler first. See my list of best mascaras if you don't have one you love.
  6. Flare it up with a catty effect with SACRED EYE LASHES OR BLINX EYELASHES.....
